Most people are aware that Christ suffered and died on the cross, and then was resurrected on the third day. However, it wasn't just Jesus who suffered. When we look through the stories of the Gospels we can see that the disciples went from weak, faithless men that were afraid of the consequences of following Jesus, to strong, powerful men who spoke the truth no matter what the consequences. The disciples were transformed by their suffering just as Jesus was. It's a message for all of us, that when suffering comes we should actually be happy because it is a precursor to transformation.
