6888. “这也是我的纪念, 直到代代” 表祂必永远受敬拜. 这从 “纪念” 和 “代代” 的含义清楚可知: “纪念” 是指要回想的东西, 当论及神性时, 是指在敬拜中要回想起祂的品质; “代代” 是指永远.

在圣言中, 经上之所以用 “永远” 和 “代代”, 有时在同一节经文中用到, 是因为 “永远” 论及神性良善, “代代” 论及神性真理. “纪念” 和 “名字” 也是这种情形; “纪念” 论及在真理方面敬拜中神性的品质, 而 “名字” 论及在真理与良善, 尤其在良善方面敬拜中神性的品质. “纪念” (经上或译为记念) 表示敬拜中神性的品质, 这一点明显可见于何西阿书:

耶和华万军之神, 耶和华是祂的纪念. 所以你当归向神 (的力量), 谨守仁爱, 公平. (何西阿书 12:5-6)

这论述的是在真理方面敬拜的品质, 故经上说 “耶和华是祂的纪念”. 诗篇:

'Punishment' is the consummation of evil, because after punishment, reformation succeeds. This is why it says in Deuteronomy 25:3, 'that no more than forty stripes should be struck, lest thy brother become vile in thine eyes,' because 'forty' signifies the end of evil and the beginning of good, which is why 'more than forty stripes,' would not signify the beginning of good, or reformation.
