3130. 'His name was Laban' means the essential nature of that affection. This is clear from the meaning of 'name' as a person's character or nature, dealt with in 144, 145, 1754, 1896, 2009, 2724. Here therefore 'Laban' means the essential nature of that affection which is being dealt with.
