1018. The reason this verse repeats the reproduce and multiply of the first verse in the present chapter is that the words form a closure. In addition, [it makes the point] that all will turn out well for people and will reproduce and multiply if they do not take the missteps symbolized by the eating and the shedding of blood — in other words, if they do not obliterate charity through hatred and profanation.
