God does not always require us to operate solely on faith, and in fact at times will lay out very clear evidence for the wrong doings of humanity. As God calls Ezekiel to be a prophet, we see that God lays out the case against Jerusalem and that what they thought was hidden from God was in fact well known by Him.

Commentary

 

Idolatry

  

In Genesis 31:30, this signifies indignation on account of having lost his truth. (Arcana Coelestia 4146)

There are three universal kinds of idolatry; the first is grounded in self-love, the second in the love of the world, and the third in the love of pleasures. These three kinds of idolatry are signified by the three sons of Terah in Genesis 11:26: Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
