1998. Verse 3. And Abram fell upon his faces, and God spoke with him, saying. “Abram fell upon his faces,” signifies adoration; “and God spoke with him, saying,” signifies a degree of perception; the expression “God” is used for the reason that the Lord is represented by the God Shaddai whom Abram worshiped; also because truth is treated of, which was to be united to good.
