20 เพราะว่าเมื่อเราจะได้นำเขาเข้ามาในแผ่นดินซึ่งมีน้ำนมและน้ำผึ้งไหลบริบูรณ์ ซึ่งเราได้ปฏิญาณแก่บรรพบุรุษของเขา และเขาได้รับประทานอิ่มหนำและอ้วนพี เขาจะหันไปปรนนิบัติพระอื่น และหมิ่นประมาทเรา และผิดพันธสัญญาของเรา

27 และโยชูวากล่าวแก่ประชาชนทั้งปวงว่า "ดูเถิด ศิลาก้อนนี้จะเป็นพยานปรักปรำเรา เพราะศิลานี้ได้ยินพระวจนะทั้งสิ้นแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์ซึ่งตรัสแก่เรา จึงจะเป็นพยานปรักปรำท่าน เกลือกว่าท่านจะปฏิเสธพระเจ้าของท่าน"
