⁸ അബ്രാഹാം വയോധികനും കാലസമ്പൂര്‍ണ്ണനുമായി നല്ല വാര്‍ദ്ധക്യത്തില്‍ പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു മരിച്ചു, തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേര്‍ന്നു.

³² If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.

¹⁹ ഇവര്‍ എദോം എന്നും പേരുള്ള ഏശാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും അവരില്‍നിന്നു ഉത്ഭവിച്ച പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും ആകുന്നു.
