3072. 'Let her be the one whom You have appointed for Your servant Isaac' means the joining together of Divine truth and Divine Good in the Rational. This is clear from the meaning of 'appointing', that is to say, the woman, as joining together by means of a marriage covenant, and from the representation of 'Isaac' as the Divine good of the Rational, dealt with above in 3024. Rebekah - to whom 'her' refers here - represents Divine truth that was to be joined to the Divine Good of the Rational, as stated in various places above and as is evident from the details in the internal sense in this chapter.
