Genesis 1:13

Study

13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

Commentary

Resurrection, the first

'The first resurrection,' mentioned in Revelation 20:5, 6, does not mean a first resurrection, but the essence and primary part of resurrection, which is salvation and eternal life. There is only one resurrection to life. A second does not happen, and is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible.

Commentary

Fir tree

A fir tree signifies the natural principle as to good. The fir tree, pine tree, and the box tree, as in Isaiah 60:13, signify the celestial natural things of the Lord's kingdom and church, consequently, such things as relating to external worship. A fir tree also signifies natural truth superior. A fir tree, as in Ezekiel 31:8, signifies the perception of the natural man.
