Exodus 30:12

Study

       

12 When◦ thou shalt take·​·up the sum of the sons of Israel, as to those who are numbered◦ of them, then they shall give, each·​·man◦, an atonement of his soul to Jehovah when numbering◦ them, that there be not among◦ them a plague striking when numbering◦ them.

Commentary

 

Sinai, mount

  

In Exodus 16:1, this signifies the good from which proceeds the truth with spiritual people after regeneration. (Arcana Coelestia 8399)

In Exodus 24:12, this signifies elevation into the Lord's presence. Mount Sinai also signifies represents the Word, which is from the Lord and is the Lord, thus also heaven. (Arcana Coelestia 9415) In the following verse, this signifies the Law, or the Divine Truth proceeding from the Lord's Divine Good. (Arcana Coelestia 9420)

In Exodus 19:23, this signifies that those of the spiritual kingdom cannot rise to the celestial kingdom. (Arcana Coelestia 8835)
