3083. 'And filled her pitcher' means vessels for receiving. This is clear from the meaning of 'a pitcher' in the internal sense, since it is a vessel able to receive water, as a recipient of cognitions of truth, also of truth itself, which are meant by 'water'. For 'water' in the internal sense means cognitions, and also truth, see 28, 680, 2702, 3058.
