1689. That 'the king of Sodom and [the king] of Gomorrah fled, and they fell there' means that those evils and falsities were overcome is clear from the meaning of 'Sodom and Gomorrah' as the evils giving rise to evil desires and the falsities giving rise to false persuasions, dealt with above - 'the king of Sodom and [the king] of Gomorrah' at this point stand for all evils and falsities, including those meant by the remaining kings - and also from the meaning of 'fleeing and falling' as being overcome.
