1784. Verse 1 After these events 1 the word of Jehovah came to Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram, I am a shield to you, your exceedingly great reward.

'After these events 1 the word of Jehovah came to Abram in a vision' means that after the conflicts in childhood revelation followed, 'a vision' meaning an inmost revelation, which is an accompaniment of perception. 'Fear not, Abram, I am a shield to you' means protection against evils and falsities, which is able to be trusted. 'Your great reward' means the end in view realized in victories.
