2587. Because of the word of Sarah. That this signifies by reason of the rational if it had conjoined itself, is evident from the representation of “Sarah” as a sister, as being rational truth (see n. 2508). The “word of Sarah” signifies the whole transaction, namely, that she was called a sister, and that Abimelech took her, but that he did not come near her.
