That this signifies a state of communication, is evident from the signification of “inquiring,” as being when said of the Lord a communication; for it was Jehovah in Himself who was inquired of; in the historical sense, however, this communication is expressed by “praying” (n. 3285); and the state of communication by “inquiring.”
