17 `And of the residue of the oil which [is] on his palm, the priest putteth on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot, on the blood of the guilt-offering;

Verse 17. Whence it follows that not only is truth received from the Lord communicating power, but good also, when man is purified from profanation, being the essential of power in the will by obedience from a principle of good; in the understanding from the conjunction of truth with good interiorly; and in the life by the conjunction of truth with good in every action; and this even in worship from the innocence of ignorance.
