54 The man who is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children whom he has remaining;

Verse 54. So that the truth that was once esteemed full of goodness and kindness amongst you, shall be hostile to all charity, and towards the holy affection of doing good that was once joined to it in the soul, and towards those right principles of conduct that were once developed from it:
