21 a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakim; but Yahweh destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and lived in their place;

Verse 21. These false persuasions are derived from hereditary evil and pervert all the goods and truths of the soul, and are deeply rooted, as all those derived from self-love; but the Lord destroyed them by means of the doctrines of external truth, and they succeeded them and dwelt in that region of the mind:
