8 Also in Horeb ye provoked the LORD to wrath, so that the LORD was angry with you to have destroyed you.

Verse 8. Also when instructed in Divine truth it still turned away from its influence, so that the Divine influx was well-near rejected, and the spiritual life thereby destroyed.
