35 τινες μεταξυ παντων των θεων των τοπων ελυτρωσαν την γην αυτων εκ της χειρος μου, ωστε και ο Κυριος να λυτρωση την Ιερουσαλημ εκ της χειρος μου;

Verse 35. And also, that the same principles, as to corrupted interior affections, are impotent in comparison with the power of reason corrupted by self-love. And hence it is the profane boast of reason that even Divine Love cannot save the church.
