22 Kaj la Eternulo, via Dio, forpelos tiujn popolojn de antaux vi iom post iom; vi ne povas ekstermi ilin rapide, por ke ne multigxu kontraux vi la sovagxaj bestoj.

Verse 22. And the Divine Love and Wisdom will drive out the hereditary evils of the unregenerate heart by degrees; they cannot be driven out at once, for thereby the lower evil lusts would multiply upon the soul.
