9 Zo hoorde de koning van Assyrie naar hem; want de koning van Assyrie toog op tegen Damaskus, en nam haar in, en voerde hen gevankelijk naar Kir, en hij doodde Rezin.

Verse 9. For the rational faculty of the corrupted celestial man is the expression of his self-love, and therefore ascribes to itself the knowledges of good, and then perverts those knowledges, destroying the love thereof.
