17 Why did you not eat in the holy place the sacrifice for sin, which is most holy, and given to you, that you may bear the iniquity of the people, and may pray for them in the sight of the Lord,

Verse 17. That the good of worship on account of deliverance from evil is to be appropriated in a holy state thence resulting, because this good is most holy; and through celestial truth and good the Lord fights for man against evil, that man may be reconciled with Him, or in other words, that the external man may be brought into harmony with the internal by genuine repentance.
