The Gospel of Mark

The Last Supper

The gospels truly are a "seamless garment". The Gospel of Mark picks up precisely at the point where Matthew has finished, with the "Great Commission", when Jesus charges His disciples to preach the good news of His birth, life, death, resurrection, and, especially, His teachings. Mark opens by saying, "The beginning of the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Son of God." This is it! And right away, he starts with "the voice of one crying in the wilderness," proclaiming that the Messiah, the Son of God, has come. - Rev. Dr. Ray Silverman
