The New Christian canon is based on Swedenborg's listing of the books of the Word than contain a continuous internal meaning. excludes the Apocrypha, the books of Ruth, Esther, Job, Chronicles, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, the letters of Paul, James, Peter, and John, and some others. The chapter breakdown is based on an outline provided by Heartlight.org, though we don't mean to imply that they endorse the small canon idea - they almost certainly don't - but they have done a good job of breaking the reading into sensible chunks.
