9374. Thou and Aaron. That this signifies the Word in the internal sense and the external sense, is evident from the representation of Moses, as being the Word (of which above, n. 9372). But when Aaron, who was his brother, is joined to him, then Moses represents the Word in the internal sense, and Aaron the Word in the external sense (as also above, n. 7089, 7382).

Commentary

Samson

'Samson' represents the Lord when He fought against the hells and subdued them because of His natural self regarding truth. This was before He put on divine good and truth regarding His natural self. 'Samson' represents the only Nazarite, that is, the Lord and the power of His righteousness, who subjugated all diabolical spirits and conquered death.

8274. Jehovah is His name. That this signifies that it is He alone from whom all things are, is evident from the signification of the name “Jehovah,” as being all things of faith and love, or all things of truth and good, in the complex, by which the Lord is worshiped (see n. 2724, 3006, 6674); and as being in the supreme sense the Divine Human of the the Lord, (n. 2628, 6887), from which all these things are. From this cause and also from the fact that Jehovah is Being itself, thus the being of all things, it is evident that, by “Jehovah is His name,” is signified that the Lord alone is He from whom all things are.
