2499. Verse 1 And Abraham travelled from there towards the land of the south, and dwelt between Kadesh and Shur; and he sojourned in Gerar.

'And dwelt between Kadesh and Shur' means His state specifically, 'Kadesh' being the affection for interior truth coming from rational concepts, 'Shur' the affection for exterior truth deriving from factual knowledge. 'And he sojourned in Gerar' means consequent instruction in the spiritual things of faith.
