וַיִּקְרָא יִצְחָק אֶל־יַעֲקֹב וַיְבָרֶךְ אֹתֹו וַיְצַוֵּהוּ וַיֹּאמֶר לֹו לֹא־תִקַּח אִשָּׁה מִבְּנֹות כְּנָעַן׃

וַיִּקְרָא יִצְחָק אֶל־יַעֲקֹב וַיְבָרֶךְ אֹתֹו וַיְצַוֵּהוּ וַיֹּאמֶר לֹו לֹא־תִקַּח אִשָּׁה מִבְּנֹות כְּנָעַן׃
3684. 'And that Jacob had listened to his father and to his mother' [means obedience and affection]. This is clear from the meaning of 'listening to someone' or hearkening as obeying, dealt with in 2542. Doing so 'to father and mother' means obedience due to affection.
