1284. Verse 1. (Genesis 11:1). And the whole earth was of one lip, and their words were one. “And the whole earth was of one lip,” signifies that everywhere there was one doctrine in general; a “lip” is doctrine; “the earth” is the church; “and their words were one,” signifies that there was one doctrine in particular.
