137. THE INTERNAL SENSE
The first three chapters of Genesis treat in general of the Most Ancient Church, which is called “Man” [homo] from its first period to its last, when it perished: the preceding part of 2:0 treats of its most flourishing state, when it was a celestial man; here it now treats of those who inclined to their Own, and of their posterity.
