'Abraham begot Isaac' means that the Divine itself begot the Divine Rational. 'And Isaac was a son of forty years' means from His own power by means of the conflicts brought about by temptations. 'When he took Rebekah' means the joining of Divine Truth [to the Divine Rational]. 'The daughter of Bethuel the Aramean from Paddan Aram, the sister of Laban the Aramean, to be his wife' means its essential nature and its state.
