2919. 'The sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him' means a reciprocal state existing with members of the new Church. This is clear from the meaning of 'answering', when assent is given to that which is requested, as that which is reciprocal, and from the meaning of 'the sons of Heth' as those with whom the new spiritual Church existed, dealt with above in 2913.
