And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made. “And it came to pass at the end of forty days” signifies the duration of the former state, and the beginning of the following one; “that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made” signifies a second state, when the truths of faith appeared to him.
