That this signifies not as in the former state, is evident from the signification of “yesterday and the day before yesterday,” as being what is past (see n. 6983); and as all times signify states (n. 2625, 2788, 2837, 3254, 3356, 4814, 4882, 4901, 4916), therefore “yesterday and the day before yesterday” signifies the former state.
