Meum est enim omne primogenitum : ex quo percussi primogenitos in terra Ægypti, sanctificavi mihi quidquid primum nascitur in Israël : ab homine usque ad pecus, mei sunt. Ego Dominus.

Verse 13. Because faith proceeds from the Lord through charity, when, by the work of redemption faith without charity is exterminated; then faith conjoined therewith is sanctified with the man of the church both as to Internals and Externals, all good being from the Lord; and the Lord alone being good itself.
