426. Quod ‘ferrum’ significet verum naturale, praeter ab illis quae allata sunt, etiam constat apud Ezechielem de Tyro, Tarshish negotiatrix tua, prae multitudine omnis affluentiae, in argento, ferro, stanno et plumbo, dederunt mercaturas tuas: Dan et Javan, et Meusal 1 , in negotiationibus tuis dederunt ferrum tersum; casia et calamus in foro tuo fuit, 27:12, 19;

ex his et quae praecedunt et sequuntur in eodem capite, constat manifeste quod significentur divitiae caelestes et spirituales, et quod per singula quae nominantur, aliquid speciale; tum etiam per nomina; nam Verbum Domini est spirituale non verbale:

[2] apud Jeremiam,

Num conteret ferrum, ferrum a septentrione et aes? facultates tuas et thesauros in praedam dabo, non in pretio, et quidem pro omnibus peccatis His, 15:12, 13;

[3] apud Ezechielem,

Accipe tibi sartaginem ferri; et da eam parietem ferri, inter te et inter urbem, et disponas facies tuas ad eam, et sit in obsidionem, et angustes contra eam, 4:3;

quod per ‘ferrum’ hic significetur veritas, etiam constat; veritati tribuitur robur quia ei non resisti potest, quare etiam praedicatur de ferro, quo significatur veritas seu verum fidei, quod confringat et contundat; ut apud Dan. 2:33, 40;

et apud Johannem, Qui vicerit, ... illi dabo potestatem super gentes, illi pascat 3 eas virga ferrea; sicut vasa figulinorum 4 conterantur, Apoc. 2:26, 27:

apud eundem,

Mulier peperit filium masculum, qui pasturus4 erit omnes gentes virga ferrea, Apoc. 12:5;

19:11, 13, 15.

Poznámky pod čarou:

1. The Hebrew here is doubtful. In 3923 Swedenborg has Dan et Javan, adveniens in nundinis tuis, in 10256 and 10258 he has Dan et Javan netum in negotiationibus tuis. The Revised Version (1881–1885) has ‘traded with yarn’ or, in the margin, traded from Uzal. The Revised Version The Revised Version (1881–1885) has Vedan for Dan, but the existence of such a place seems doubtful.

2. Hebrew (zillah) means ‘screen’, or ‘shade’.

4. In Arcana Coelestia 4876 and Apocalypsis Revelata Swedenborg has figulina; in Apocalypsis Explicata fictilia.

3. Greek is poimaino = ‘to shepherd’, hence ‘feed, guide or rule’. The usual verb for ‘rule’ is hegeomai. Cf. Matth. 2:6, Revised Version (1881-1885)

Matthew 28:1-10

Studie

1 Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.

2 Behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from the sky, and came and rolled away the stone from the door, and sat on it.

3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.

4 For fear of him, the guards shook, and became like dead men.

5 The angel answered the women, "Don't be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus, who has been crucified.

6 He is not here, for he has risen, just like he said. Come, see the place where the Lord was lying.

7 Go quickly and tell his disciples, 'He has risen from the dead, and behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there you will see him.' Behold, I have told you."

8 They departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring his disciples word.

9 As they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" They came and took hold of his feet, and worshiped him.

10 Then Jesus said to them, "Don't be afraid. Go tell my brothers that they should Go into Galilee, and there they will see me."
