Leviticus 3

Studie

1 And if his offering be a sacrifice of peace··offering, if he offer it of the herd; whether a male or female, perfect shall he offer it before Jehovah.

2 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and slaughter it at the entrance of the Tabernacle of the congregation; and Aaron’s sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar all around.

3 And he shall offer from the sacrifice of the peace··offerings a fire··offering to Jehovah; the fat covering the inwards, and all the fat that is over the inwards,

4 and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is on the entrails, and the caul on the liver over the kidneys, it he shall remove.

5 And Aaron’s sons shall burn· it ·for··incense on the altar on the burnt··offering, which is on the wood that is on the fire; it is a fire··offering, a restful smell to Jehovah.

6 And if his offering for a sacrifice of peace··offering to Jehovah be of the flock, male or female, perfect shall he offer it.

7 If he offer a lamb for his offering, then he shall offer it before Jehovah.

8 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and slaughter it before the Tabernacle of the congregation; and Aaron’s sons shall sprinkle the blood of it all around upon the altar.

9 And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace··offerings, a fire··offering to Jehovah; the fat, and the entire tail, alongside the backbone he shall remove it; and the fat covering the inwards, and all the fat that is over the inwards,

10 and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is on the entrails, and the caul on the liver, on the kidneys, it he shall remove.

11 And the priest shall burn· it ·for··incense on the altar; it is the bread of the fire··offering to Jehovah.

12 And if his offering be a goat, then he shall offer it before Jehovah.

13 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of it, and slaughter it before the Tabernacle of the congregation; and the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle the blood of it on the altar all around.

14 And he shall offer from it his offering, even a fire··offering to Jehovah; the fat that covers the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,

15 and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is on the entrails, and the caul on the liver, on the kidneys, it he shall remove.

16 And the priest shall burn· them ·for··incense upon the altar; it is the bread of the fire··offering for a restful smell; all the fat is for Jehovah.

17 It shall be an eternal statute for your generations in all your dwellings, and all the fat and all the blood, you shall not eat.

9392. Verses 6-8 And Moses took half of the blood and put it in bowls, and half of the blood he sprinkled over the altar. And he took the book of the covenant, and read it in the ears of the people; and they said, All that Jehovah has spoken we will do and hear. And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it over the people, and said, Behold, the blood of the covenant which Jehovah has made with you according to all these words. 'And Moses took half of the blood' means Divine Truth which has become a matter of life and of worship.

'And put it in bowls' means present with a person, in the things forming his memory. 'And half of the blood he sprinkled over the altar' means Divine Truth from the Lord's Divine Human. 'And he took the book of the covenant' means the Word in the letter to which the Word in heaven was joined. 'And read it in the ears of the people' means to be listened to and obeyed. 'And they said, All that Jehovah has spoken we will do and hear' means receiving the truth that emanates from the Lord's Divine Human, and obeying it with heart and soul. 'And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it over the people' means making a person well-adapted to receive it. 'And said, Behold, the blood of the covenant' means that by means of this truth the Lord's Divine Human is joined to heaven and to earth. 'Which Jehovah has made with you according to all these words' means that the Lord accomplishes the joining together by means of every single part of the Word.

Exodus 24

Studie

1 He said to Moses, "Come up to Yahweh, you, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship from a distance.

2 Moses alone shall come near to Yahweh, but they shall not come near, neither shall the people go up with him."

3 Moses came and told the people all the words of Yahweh, and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, "All the words which Yahweh has spoken will we do."

4 Moses wrote all the words of Yahweh, and rose up early in the morning, and built an altar under the mountain, and twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.

5 He sent young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of cattle to Yahweh.

6 Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.

7 He took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said, "All that Yahweh has spoken will we do, and be obedient."

8 Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, "Look, this is the blood of the covenant, which Yahweh has made with you concerning all these words."

9 Then Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up.

10 They saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was like a paved work of sapphire stone, like the skies for clearness.

11 He didn't lay his hand on the nobles of the children of Israel. They saw God, and ate and drank.

12 Yahweh said to Moses, "Come up to me on the mountain, and stay here, and I will give you the tables of stone with the law and the commands that I have written, that you may teach them."

13 Moses rose up with Joshua, his servant, and Moses went up onto God's Mountain.

14 He said to the elders, "Wait here for us, until we come again to you. Behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever is involved in a dispute can go to them."

15 Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.

16 The glory of Yahweh settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. The seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.

17 The appearance of the glory of Yahweh was like devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel.

18 Moses entered into the midst of the cloud, and went up on the mountain; and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
