729. 'Raining' means temptation. This is clear from what has been stated and shown in the preliminary section of this chapter, 1 to the effect that the flood and deluge of waters, which is called 'raining' here, mean not only temptation but also vastation. This will also be evident from what is to be stated further on about the Flood.
