¹ เมื่อวันที่สิบสองเดือนสิบในปีที่สิบ พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังข้าพเจ้าว่า

² "บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย จงมุ่งหน้าของเจ้าต่อสู้ฟาโรห์กษัตริย์แห่งอียิปต์ พยากรณ์กล่าวโทษกษัตริย์และอียิปต์ทั้งสิ้น

³ พูดไปเถิดและกล่าวว่า องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า ดูเถิด เราเป็นปฏิปักษ์กับเจ้า ฟาโรห์กษัตริย์แห่งอียิปต์ ผู้เป็นพญานาคมหึมา นอนอยู่กลางแม่น้ำทั้งหลายของมัน ผู้กล่าวว่า `แม่น้ำของข้าก็เป็นของข้า ข้าสร้างมันขึ้นเพื่อตัวของข้าเอง'

⁴ เราจะเอาเบ็ดเกี่ยวขากรรไตรของเจ้า และจะกระทำให้ปลาในแม่น้ำทั้งหลายของเจ้าติดกับเกล็ดของเจ้า และเราจะลากเจ้าขึ้นมาจากกลางแม่น้ำทั้งหลายของเจ้า และบรรดาปลาในแม่น้ำทั้งหลายของเจ้าจะติดอยู่กับเกล็ดของเจ้า

⁵ เราจะเหวี่ยงเจ้าเข้าไปในถิ่นทุรกันดาร ทั้งตัวเจ้าและบรรดาปลาในแม่น้ำทั้งหลายของเจ้า เจ้าจะตกลงที่พื้นทุ่ง จะไม่มีใครรวบรวมและฝังเจ้าไว้ เราได้มอบเจ้าไว้ให้เป็นอาหารของสัตว์ป่าดินและของนกในอากาศ

⁶ แล้วคนที่อยู่ในอียิปต์ทั้งสิ้นจะทราบว่า เราคือพระเยโฮวาห์ เพราะเจ้าเป็นไม้เท้าอ้อของวงศ์วานอิสราเอล

⁷ เมื่อเขาเอามือจับเจ้า เจ้าก็หัก และบาดบ่าของเขาทุกคน และเมื่อเขาพิงเจ้า เจ้าก็โค่น และกระทำให้บั้นเอวของเขาทุกคนสั่นหมด

⁸ ดังนั้นองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า ดูเถิด เราจะนำดาบมาเหนือเจ้า และตัดมนุษย์และสัตว์ให้ขาดจากเจ้าเสีย

⁹ แผ่นดินอียิปต์จะเป็นที่รกร้างและถูกทิ้งไว้เสียเปล่า แล้วเขาทั้งหลายจะทราบว่า เราคือพระเยโฮวาห์ เพราะเขาได้กล่าวว่า `แม่น้ำเป็นของข้า และข้าสร้างมันขึ้นมา'

¹⁰ เหตุฉะนั้น ดูเถิด เราจะต่อสู้กับเจ้า และกับแม่น้ำทั้งหลายของเจ้า เราจะกระทำให้แผ่นดินอียิปต์ถูกทิ้งไว้เสียเปล่าและรกร้างอย่างสิ้นเชิง ตั้งแต่หอคอยแห่งสิเอเนไกลไปจนถึงพรมแดนเอธิโอเปีย

¹¹ จะไม่มีเท้ามนุษย์ข้ามแผ่นดินนั้น และจะไม่มีตีนสัตว์ข้ามแผ่นดินนั้น จะไม่มีใครอาศัยอยู่ถึงสี่สิบปี

¹² และเราจะกระทำให้แผ่นดินอียิปต์เป็นที่รกร้างท่ามกลางประเทศทั้งหลายที่รกร้างนั้น และหัวเมืองของมันจะรกร้างอยู่สี่สิบปีท่ามกลางหัวเมืองทั้งหลายที่ถูกทิ้งไว้เสียเปล่า เราจะให้คนอียิปต์กระจัดกระจายไปท่ามกลางประชาชาติ และจะกระจายเขาไปตามประเทศต่างๆ

¹³ เพราะองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า เมื่อสิ้นสี่สิบปีแล้ว เราจะรวบรวมคนอียิปต์จากท่ามกลางชนชาติทั้งหลายซึ่งเขากระจัดกระจายไปอยู่ด้วยนั้น

¹⁴ และเราจะให้อียิปต์กลับสู่สภาพเดิม และนำเขากลับมายังแผ่นดินปัทโรส ซึ่งเป็นแผ่นดินดั้งเดิมของเขา และเขาทั้งหลายจะเป็นราชอาณาจักรต่ำต้อยที่นั่น

¹⁵ จะเป็นราชอาณาจักรที่ต่ำต้อยที่สุดในบรรดาราชอาณาจักรทั้งหลาย และจะไม่เคยยกตนขึ้นเหนือประชาชาติทั้งหลายอีกเลย เพราะเราจะทำให้เขาเป็นราชอาณาจักรเล็กจนไม่สามารถจะปกครองประชาชาติอื่นได้

¹⁶ และจะไม่เป็นที่วางใจของวงศ์วานอิสราเอลอีก อันทำให้สำนึกถึงความชั่วช้าของเขาเมื่อหันไปพึ่งพาอียิปต์นี้ แล้วเขาจะทราบว่าเราคือ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้า"

¹⁷ ต่อมาเมื่อวันที่หนึ่ง เดือนที่หนึ่ง ในปีที่ยี่สิบเจ็ด พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังข้าพเจ้าว่า

¹⁸ "บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย เนบูคัดเนสซาร์ กษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลนได้ให้กองทัพมาสู้รบกับเมืองไทระอย่างหนัก จนศีรษะทุกศีรษะล้าน และบ่าทุกบ่าก็ถลอก ถึงกระนั้นท่านเองหรือกองทัพของท่านก็ไม่ได้อะไรไปจากไทระอันเป็นค่าแรงซึ่งท่านได้กระทำต่อเมืองนั้น

¹⁹ เหตุฉะนั้น องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า ดูเถิด เราจะมอบแผ่นดินอียิปต์ไว้กับเนบูคัดเนสซาร์กษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลน และท่านจะเอาคนเป็นอันมากของเขาไปและริบข้าวของไป และปล้นเอาไปเป็นค่าจ้างกองทัพของท่าน

²⁰ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสว่า เราได้มอบแผ่นดินอียิปต์ให้ไว้แก่ท่าน เพื่อเป็นค่าแรงงานซึ่งเขาทั้งหลายได้กระทำเพื่อเรา

²¹ ในวันนั้นเราจะกระทำให้มีเขางอกขึ้นมาที่วงศ์วานอิสราเอล และเราจะให้เจ้าอ้าปากพูดท่ามกลางเขาทั้งหลาย แล้วเขาจะทราบว่าเราคือพระเยโฮวาห์"

¹ Yahweh said to Noah, "Come with all of your household into the ship, for I have seen your righteousness before me in this generation.

² You shall take seven pairs of every clean animal with you, the male and his female. Of the animals that are not clean, take two, the male and his female.

³ Also of the birds of the sky, seven and seven, male and female, to keep seed alive on the surface of all the earth.

⁴ In seven days, I will cause it to rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights. Every living thing that I have made, I will destroy from the surface of the ground."

⁵ Noah did everything that Yahweh commanded him.

⁶ Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters came on the earth.

⁷ Noah went into the ship with his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives, because of the waters of the flood.

⁸ Clean animals, animals that are not Clean, birds, and everything that creeps on the ground

⁹ went by pairs to Noah into the ship, male and female, as God commanded Noah.

¹⁰ It happened after the seven days, that the waters of the flood came on the earth.

¹¹ In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep were burst open, and the sky's windows were opened.

¹² The rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights.

¹³ In the same day Noah, and Shem, Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, entered into the ship;

¹⁴ they, and every animal after its kind, all the livestock after their kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird of every sort.

¹⁵ They went to Noah into the ship, by pairs of all flesh with the breath of life in them.

¹⁶ Those who went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God commanded him; and Yahweh shut him in.

¹⁷ The flood was forty days on the earth. The waters increased, and lifted up the ship, and it was lifted up above the earth.

¹⁸ The waters prevailed, and increased greatly on the earth; and the ship floated on the surface of the waters.

¹⁹ The waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth. All the high mountains that were under the whole sky were covered.

²⁰ The waters prevailed fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered.

²¹ All flesh died that moved on the earth, including birds, livestock, animals, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man.

²² All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, of all that was on the dry land, died.

²³ Every living thing was destroyed that was on the surface of the ground, including man, livestock, creeping things, and birds of the sky. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ship.

²⁴ The waters prevailed on the earth one hundred fifty days.
