² And Absalom got·​·up·​·early, and stood by^◦ the side^* of the way of the gate; and it was, that when any man^◦ that had a plea came to^▵ the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto^▵ him and said, Of what city art thou^◦? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes^◦ of Israel.

¹⁶ And it was, when^▵ Hushai the Archite, a companion of David, came unto^▵ Absalom, that Hushai said unto^▵ Absalom, May the king live! may the king live!
