⁷ And Jehovah said to^▵ Samuel, Look not on his appearance or on the tallness of his stature, because^◦ I have rejected him; for Jehovah does not Look at what man sees; for man sees what is before the eyes, but Jehovah sees the heart.

¹⁸ And one of the lads answered and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse, the Bethlehemite; he knows how to strum and is mighty in valor, a man^◦ of war, and understanding of words, and a man^◦ of form^◦, and Jehovah is with him.
