4883. 'And took off her veil from upon her' means the obscurity; that is to say this was dispelled. This is clear from the meaning of 'covering oneself with a veil' as rendering truth obscure, dealt with above in 4859, and therefore 'faking off the veil' as dispelling that obscurity.
