Revelation 18

Სწავლა

And after these things I saw an angel coming··down out··of heaven, having great authority, and the earth was enlightened by his glory.

And he cried out in strength with a great voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a habitation of demons, and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful fowl.

For all the nations have drunk from the wine of the wrath of her harlotry, and the kings of the earth have committed··harlotry with her, and the merchants of the earth have become··rich from the power of her delights.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come··out of her, My people, that· you become ·not partakers of her sins, and that· you receive ·not of her plagues.

For her sins have reached even··to heaven, and God has remembered her injustices.

Render to her even as she has rendered to you; and double to her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix to her double.

As··much··as she has glorified herself and been··delighted, so··much torment and mourning give her, for she says in her heart, I sit a queen, and am not a widow, and shall not see mourning.

On··account··of this shall her plagues come in one day, death and mourning and famine; and she shall be burnt··up in fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.

And the kings of the earth, who have committed··harlotry and been··delighted with her, shall weep for her, and wail over her, when they shall look··at the smoke of her burning··fire,

standing afar··off for the fear of her torment, saying, Woe, Woe, that great city Babylon, that strong city; for in one hour has thy judgment come.

And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her, because no one buys their merchandise any more:

merchandise of gold and silver, and precious stone and pearls, and fine··linen and crimson, and silk and scarlet, and all thyine* wood, and every vessel of ivory, and every vessel of precious wood and of bronze and of iron and of marble,

and cinnamon and incense and ointment and frankincense, and wine and oil and fine-flour and wheat, and beasts··of··burden and sheep, and horses, and carts, and bodies and souls of men.

And the fruits of the longing of thy soul have departed from thee, and all fat and splendid things have departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.

The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, shall stand afar··off for fear of her torment, weeping and mourning,

and saying, Woe, Woe, that great city, arrayed in fine··linen and crimson and scarlet, and gilded with gold, and precious stone, and pearls;* for in one hour so··many riches were devastated.

And every helmsman and everyone involved with ships, and sailors, and as··many··as work at sea, stood afar··off,

and cried··out when they saw the smoke of her burning··fire, saying, What city is like this great city?

And they cast dust upon their heads, and cried, weeping and mourning, saying, Woe, Woe, that great city, in which all who had ships in the sea were made rich by her costliness; for in one hour it was devastated.

Be··merry over her, O heaven, and holy apostles and prophets; for God has judged your judgment of her.

And one strong angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be cast down, and shall not be found any more.

And the voice of harpers and musicians, and flute··players and trumpeters shall not be heard in thee any more; and no craftsman of any craft shall be found in thee any more; and the voice of a millstone shall not be heard in thee any more;

and the light of a lamp shall not appear in thee any more; and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in thee any more; because thy merchants were the great ones of the earth; because by thy sorcery have all nations been seduced.

And in her was found the blood of prophets and of holy ones, and of all who have been slain on the earth.
