29 And they encamped, these opposite these, seven days. And it was on the seventh day and the battle neared; and the sons of Israel smote Syria, a hundred thousand footmen in one day.

Verse 29. Consequently a state of preparation by external sanctity follows; and when this is completed, resistance to the natural man is made, resulting in, apparently, full and complete subjugation of the lower passions and fallacies, under that particular state.
