勉強

   

1 Kaj Moseo kunvokis cxiujn Izraelidojn, kaj diris al ili:Auxskultu, ho Izrael, la legxojn kaj la regulojn, kiujn mi diras en viajn orelojn hodiaux, kaj lernu ilin kaj observu plenumi ilin.

2 La Eternulo, nia Dio, faris kun ni interligon sur HXoreb.

3 Ne kun niaj patroj la Eternulo faris tiun interligon, sed kun ni, kun ni, kiuj nun cxi tie cxiuj vivas.

4 Vizagxon kontraux vizagxo la Eternulo parolis kun vi sur la monto el meze de la fajro;

5 mi tiam staris inter la Eternulo kaj vi, por transdiri al vi la vorton de la Eternulo, cxar vi timis la fajron kaj ne supreniris sur la monton. Kaj Li diris:

6 Mi estas la Eternulo, via Dio, kiu elkondukis vin el la lando Egipta, el la domo de sklaveco.

7 Ne ekzistu cxe vi aliaj dioj antaux Mi.

8 Ne faru al vi idolon, nek bildon de io, kio estas en la cxielo supre aux sur la tero malsupre aux en la akvo sub la tero;

9 ne klinigxu antaux ili kaj ne servu ilin; cxar Mi, la Eternulo, via Dio, estas Dio severa, kiu la malbonagon de la patroj punas sur la idoj en la tria kaj kvara generacioj cxe Miaj malamantoj,

10 kaj kiu faras favorkorajxon por miloj al Miaj amantoj kaj al la plenumantoj de Miaj ordonoj.

11 Ne malbonuzu la nomon de la Eternulo, via Dio; cxar la Eternulo ne lasos senpuna tiun, kiu malbonuzas Lian nomon.

12 Observu la tagon sabatan, ke vi tenu gxin sankta, kiel ordonis al vi la Eternulo, via Dio.

13 Dum ses tagoj laboru kaj faru cxiujn viajn aferojn;

14 sed la sepa tago estas sabato de la Eternulo, via Dio; faru nenian laboron, nek vi, nek via filo, nek via filino, nek via sklavo, nek via sklavino, nek via bovo, nek via azeno, nek ia via bruto, nek via fremdulo, kiu estas inter viaj pordegoj; por ke ripozu via sklavo kaj via sklavino, kiel vi.

15 Kaj memoru, ke vi estis sklavo en la lando Egipta, kaj la Eternulo, via Dio, elkondukis vin el tie per mano forta kaj per brako etendita; pro tio ordonis al vi la Eternulo, via Dio, observi la tagon sabatan.

16 Respektu vian patron kaj vian patrinon, kiel ordonis al vi la Eternulo, via Dio; por ke longe dauxru via vivo, kaj por ke estu al vi bone sur la tero, kiun la Eternulo, via Dio, donas al vi.

17 Ne mortigu.

18 Kaj ne adultu.

19 Kaj ne sxtelu.

20 Kaj ne parolu kontraux via proksimulo malveran ateston.

21 Kaj ne deziru la edzinon de via proksimulo; kaj ne deziru la domon de via proksimulo, nek lian kampon, nek lian sklavon, nek lian sklavinon, nek lian bovon, nek lian azenon, nek ion, kio apartenas al via proksimulo.

22 Tiujn vortojn diris la Eternulo al via tuta anaro sur la monto, el meze de la fajro, nubo, kaj nebulo, per vocxo lauxta; kaj Li nenion plu aldonis. Kaj Li skribis ilin sur du sxtonaj tabeloj kaj donis ilin al mi.

23 Kaj kiam vi auxdis la vocxon el la mallumo, dum la monto brulis per fajro, tiam vi aliris al mi, cxiuj viaj tribestroj kaj plejagxuloj;

24 kaj vi diris:Jen la Eternulo, nia Dio, montris al ni Sian majeston kaj Sian grandecon, kaj Lian vocxon ni auxdis el meze de la fajro; en tiu tago ni vidis, ke parolas Dio al homo, kaj cxi tiu restas vivanta.

25 Sed nun por kio ni mortu? nin ja formangxos cxi tiu granda fajro; se ni plue auxskultos la vocxon de la Eternulo, nia Dio, ni mortos.

26 CXar kie ekzistas ia karno, kiu auxdis la vocxon de la vivanta Dio, parolantan el meze de fajro, kiel ni, kaj restis vivanta?

27 Alproksimigxu vi, kaj auxskultu cxion, kion diros la Eternulo, nia Dio; kaj vi transdiros al ni cxion, kion diros la Eternulo, nia Dio, kaj ni auxskultos kaj ni plenumos.

28 Kaj la Eternulo auxdis la vocxon de viaj vortoj, kiam vi parolis al mi; kaj la Eternulo diris al mi:Mi auxdis la vocxon de la vortoj de cxi tiu popolo, kiujn ili diris al vi; bona estas cxio, kion ili diris.

29 Ho, se ilia koro restus cxe ili tia, ke ili timu Min kaj observu cxiujn Miajn ordonojn cxiutempe, por ke estu bone al ili kaj al iliaj filoj eterne!

30 Iru, diru al ili:Reiru en viajn tendojn.

31 Kaj vi cxi tie restu kun Mi, kaj Mi eldiros al vi cxiujn ordonojn kaj legxojn kaj regulojn, kiujn vi instruos al ili, por ke ili plenumadu ilin en la lando, kiun Mi donas al ili kiel posedajxon.

32 Kaj observu, ke vi faru, kiel ordonis al vi la Eternulo, via Dio; ne forflankigxu dekstren, nek maldekstren.

33 Laux tiu tuta vojo, kiun ordonis al vi la Eternulo, via Dio, iradu, por ke vi vivu kaj por ke estu bone al vi, kaj por ke longe dauxru via restado en la lando, kiun vi ekposedos.

8819. 'And Mount Sinai was smoking, the whole of it' means the appearance of celestial good in the greatest obscurity. This is clear from the meaning of 'Mount Sinai' as celestial good, as immediately above in 8818; and from the meaning of 'smoking' as appearance in obscurity. Obscurity is used to mean the obscurity of faith such as those belonging to the spiritual Church possess when compared with those belonging to the celestial Church, 2708 (beginning), 2715, 2718, 2831, 2935, 2937, 3241, 3833, 6289. The greatest obscurity, meant by 'Mount Sinai was smoking, the whole of it' and by the statement just below that 'its smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace', means the obscurity that clouded the understanding of the Israelite nation, before whom the appearance took place. For Jehovah or the Lord appears to everyone according to their true nature, 8788, 8814, so that He appears as love and the light of truth to those governed by good, but as an enemy and avenger to those ruled by evil. His appearance as such to the Israelite people is also clear from other places in Moses,

The appearance of the glory of Jehovah was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain, before the eyes of the children of Israel. Exodus 24:16-17.

In the same author,

You came near and stood at the foot of 1 the mountain, and the mountain was burning with fire even to the heart of heaven; there was darkness and cloud and thick darkness. And Jehovah spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. Deuteronomy 4:11-12; 5:22.

And in the same author,

It happened, when you heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, and the mountain was burning with fire, that you came near to Me and said, Why should we die? For this great fire will devour us; if we hear the voice of Jehovah our God any more we shall die. Deuteronomy 5:23-25.

[2] The reason why this should be so is that no person can help seeing God from such things as are present in himself. The person who is ruled by hatred, for example, sees Him from hatred; and one who is ruled by ruthlessness sees Him in ruthlessness. And on the other hand, the person who is governed by charity and mercy sees Him from these virtues and in them. It is like rays of light, which are converted into hideous colours when they fall on hideous forms, but into beautiful colours when they fall on beautiful forms. The meaning of 'smoke' as the obscurity of truth, and also as the thick darkness belonging to falsity, is clear in Isaiah 9:18-19; 34:9-10; Joel 2:30-31; Hosea 13:1, 3; Revelation 9:17-18; 18:2, 18; 19:3.

3387. 'For he was afraid to say, My wife, [thinking,] The men of the place may perhaps kill me on account of Rebekah' means that it was impossible for Divine Truths themselves to be disclosed, and so for Divine Good to be received. This is clear from the meaning of 'being afraid to say' as an inability to disclose; from the meaning of 'wife', who is Rebekah here, as the Lord's Divine Rational in respect to Divine Truth, dealt with in 3012, 3013, 3077; from the meaning of 'killing me' as good not being received, for 'Isaac', to whom 'me' refers here, represents the Divine Good of the Lord's Rational, 3012, 3194, 3210 - good being said 'to be killed' or to perish when it is not received, for it ceases to exist with that person; and from the meaning of 'the men of the place' as people who possess matters of doctrine concerning faith, dealt with just above in 3385. From these meanings it is now evident what the internal sense of these words is, namely: If Divine truths themselves were disclosed they would not be received by those who possess matters of doctrine concerning faith because those truths go beyond the whole range of their rational grasp of things, and so go beyond the whole of their faith, and as a consequence of this no good at all could flow in from the Lord. For good from the Lord, or Divine good, cannot flow in except into truths, for truths are the vessels for good, as shown many times.

[2] Truths or appearances of truth are given to a person to enable Divine Good to develop the understanding part of his mind, and so the person himself, for truths exist to the end that good may flow in. Indeed without vessels or receptacles good has nowhere to go, for it can find no condition answering to itself. Where no truths exist therefore, that is, where they have not been received, neither does any rational or human good exist; and as a consequence the person does not possess any spiritual life. Therefore, so that a person may nevertheless possess truths, and from these receive spiritual life, appearances of truth are given, to everyone according to his ability to grasp them; and these appearances are acknowledged as truths because they have the capacity to hold Divine things within them.

[3] So that it may be known what appearances are and that they are what serve a person as Divine truths, let the following be used by way of illustration: If man were told that in heaven angels have no concept of place, and so no concept of distance, but that instead they have concepts of state, he could not possibly grasp it, for he would suppose from this that nothing distinct and separate existed but that everything was fused together, that is to say, all the angels were together in a single place. Yet everything there is so distinct and separate that nothing could ever be more so. Places, distances, and intervals of space which exist in the natural order exist in heaven as states, see 3356. From this it is evident that all the things that are stated in the Word about places and intervals of space between objects, also ideas that are formed from these and expressed through them, are appearances of truth; and unless everything were stated by means of those appearances it would in no way be received and would as a consequence be scarcely anything; for the concept of space and time is present in almost every single detail of a person's thought as long as he is in the world, that is, living within space and time.

[4] The fact that the Word speaks according to appearances involving space is clear from almost every single part of it, as in Matthew,

Jesus said, How is it that David says, The Lord [said] to my Lord, Sit at My right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool? Matthew 22:43-44.

Here the expression 'sitting at the right hand' is derived from the concept of place and so according to the appearance - when in fact it is a state of the Lord's Divine power which is described by that expression. In the same gospel,

Jesus said, Hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of power and coming on the clouds of heaven. Matthew 26:64.

Here similarly 'sitting at the right hand' and also 'coming on clouds' are expressions derived from men's concept of place, whereas the concept angels have is one of the state of the Lord's power. In Mark,

The sons of Zebedee said to Jesus, Grant us to sit in Your glory, one on Your right hand and the other on Your left. Jesus replied, To sit at My right hand and at My left is not Mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared. Mark 10:37, 40.

From this it is evident what kind of concept the disciples had of the Lord's kingdom, that is to say, one that involved sitting on the right hand and on the left. Such being the concept they had of it the Lord also replied to them in a way they could understand and so by an appearance that could be seen by them.

[5] In David,

Like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, he rejoices as a mighty man to run the course. From the end of the heavens is His going forth, and His circuit to the ends of them. Psalms 19:5-6.

This refers to the Lord, the state of whose Divine power is described by means of such things as belong to space. In Isaiah,

How you have fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the dawn! You said in your heart, I will go up into the heavens, above the stars of God 1 I will raise my throne. I will go up above the heights of the clouds. Isaiah 14:12-14.

'Falling from heaven', 'going up the heavens', 'raising a throne above the stars of God', 'going up above the heights of the clouds' are all expressions derived from the concept and appearance of space or a place, and are used to describe self-love profaning holy things. Since celestial and spiritual things are presented to man by means of and according to visual objects like these, heaven too is therefore described as being on high when in fact it is not on high but in that which is internal, 450, 1380, 2148.
