Here we see the power of the Lord's goodness extending its power and connecting with the intellectual state represented by Peter. "Faith" here represents the belief that Jesus – the divine desire for good – is in fact Jehovah Himself, God Almighty. If we can truly know that then we don't need to fear the challenges and arguments that spring from purely natural thinking.
