4512. 'And everything that was in the house' means everything of the Church. This is clear from the meaning of 'the house' as the Church as regards good, dealt with in 1795, 3720, and so everything of the Church. It is because 'house' has this meaning that it is mentioned last.

'To hearken,' as mentioned in Genesis 30:22, signifies providence. 'To hearken to father and mother,' as mentioned in Genesis 28:7, signifies obedience from affection.
