'The ships of Tarshish' in Isaiah 23:1 signify the doctrinal matters of truth and good, and in the opposite sense, false doctrinal matters. In Psalm 48:7, however, they signify the devastating effects of false doctrine. (Apocalypse Explained 514[8])
