'Thigh' and 'loins,' as in Judges 8:30, represent the things that belong to conjugial love. 'Thigh' also signifies the good of celestial love and the good of spiritual love, and so 'thigh and loins' together signify conjugial love as well as all genuine love. In an opposite sense, they signify selfish love and the love of the material world.
